Running Export Compliance Screenings for Shipments to Ukraine

The war in Ukraine has made international trade in the region tricky. Checking export controls and running restricted party screenings are more important than ever. They are also more difficult than ever because the United States has imposed embargoes on some parts of Ukraine, but not all.
If you are using our Shipping Solutions Trade Compliance Software tools or our Shipping Solutions export documentation and compliance software to run export controls and restricted party screenings, you need to include the proper Ukrainian state codes to generate accurate results.
Below is a chart showing the state codes. For example, if I want to run a screening for a company in Lviv, Ukraine, I need to enter the code 46 in the state code field. On the Export Controls Software, the field is labeled State/Province, and in Shipping Solutions software the field is labeled State and is on the EZ Start-Contacts screen.
If you do not enter a state code, your results will show an export embargo on Ukraine even though only certain regions are embargoed.
